We describe and analyze social phenomena primarily from an everyday-life perspective. To do so, we establish direct contact with people in the respective field and, whenever possible, participate in their daily lives through observation. We work with non-standardized interviews, ethnography, and focus group discussions, as well as with text-based, acoustic, and visual data. In addition to interview-based research and ethnography, we pursue as sociology of knowledge approach to discourse analyis and to discourse ethnography.
