Nostradamus is focused on revolutionizing agricultural monitoring and management to support EU agriculture independence and food security. By establishing a centralized Data Cube Ecosystem for real-time, accessible data and developing open-source digital tools, it empowers farmers, policymakers, and researchers to optimize resource use, increase yields, and improve sustainability. With demonstration sites in Spain, Italy, Greece, and Germany, Nostradamus validates its solutions in real-world conditions, fostering cross-country collaboration and supporting key EU strategies such as the Green Deal, the Farm to Fork Strategy and the Common Agricultural Policy.
The University of St. Gallen (HSG) contributes to the project by leading the analysis of agricultural market trends and socio-economic factors. This involves developing models to improve decision-making tools for policy creation. Additionally, HSG supports the design of an e-learning platform, and the delivery of digital training aimed at building stakeholders' knowledge and skills in sustainable agricultural practices. These efforts ensure effective adoption of data-driven approaches within the sector.
