The Sociology Seminar is a research institution where instructors engage in both research and teaching activities, collaborating on projects with external partners. We establish partnerships with numerous universities and research institutes, both domestically and internationally.
Sociology explores various aspects of societal life, such as education and employment, politics, economics, art, and culture. It seeks to understand how institutions and power dynamics, values, and relationships undergo changes in the face of an increasingly complex society, and how people navigate these transformations. Our research delves into societal forms like markets, networks, and organizations.
Our primary focus is on fundamental research; for commissioned research, we negotiate specific agreements in consultation with our research partners.
We regularly organize research colloquia on sociological and related topics.
